If you like discussing international contemporary events in
a lively and informative atmosphere, the International
Affairs group provides a great way of doing so. Each month a
different member provides a very short paper on a chosen
topic and then it is discussed in the group. There are
definitely no experts/outside speakers and so all the
discussion is entirely self-generated. We all want to be
better informed, so it is all about learning and dialogue
not argument. For example we have recently discussed the
Ukraine crisis, the Rule of Law, Brazil, Regenerative
Farming Trends, the Sahel, East Germany and much more.
Coming up are the Gaza crisis, World Population at a tipping
point, Indonesia and North Korea.
In previous years we have looked at cannabis
policy, Russia, international finance, Korea and business
relationships with climate change and much more.
