Reading and discussion of books of the mid-twentieth century chosen by members.

Group Coordinator: tba. New Coordinator required.

There are two groups: One meets at 12.00 every second Thursday of the month, the other at 11.00am every second Friday of the month.

The Thursday group meets in a pub near Highbury Corner and the Friday group meets in a pub in Stoke Newington.

This group has recently reformed its remit. Now this group explores developments in British and Irish literature from the end of the Great War to c.1970, drawing on a rich range of talent from Virginia Woolf and Evelyn Waugh, through Agatha Christie and P.G. Wodehouse, to Barbara Pym, Graham Greene, George Orwell — and many more. We have begun by concentrating on the Twenties, but will investigate further afield as members decide.

Members will choose the works to be considered interesting, either as reads or re-reads.
