ChristieAnother of our wellbeing groups.  A six-week introductory group to a different way of thinking and moving, run by a trained Alexander Technique teacher.

Group Coordinator: Sheila Christie (click to contact)

Fridays from 11.00am-12.15pm.

At the Coordinator's house near The Angel.

This group will run over six weeks as an introduction to the Alexander Technique, which is a way of learning to move with less muscular effort and tension. You’ll find out about the basic principles and how it can help with balance, mobility, pain and posture. The group is small (maximum of four people) so that everyone can have gentle hands-on experience of the technique each week from the co-ordinator, who is a qualified Alexander teacher.

Each session will include a guided Alexander lying-down exercise which can be done at home to help maintain a healthy back. You need to be able to manage as many of the sessions as possible, as each week will build on what we’ve done the week before.

To manage demand and not have too long a waiting list we’re running this as a series of six-week introductory sessions rather than as an ongoing group.  We’ll keep this under review as we go along.

To go on the waiting list, please contact the group co-ordinator (through the email link at the top).
